Choosing the Right Tension Time

When you start training, any resistance is "welcome" and correct. Nevertheless, you should choose a fixed tension time in which you maintain muscle tension, and keep this for a longer duration during training. As training progress increases, the range of effective load dosage becomes narrower, and you should align your training dosage to your fiber type.

  • 6 out of 10 people find the effective tension time between 60 and 90 seconds (normal twitch)
  • 3 out of 10 people at 40 to 60 seconds (fast twitch)
  • 1 out of 10 people at 90 to 120 seconds (slow twitch)

What does this mean for you? Initially, nothing at all. However, if training success diminishes, it may make sense to optimize training by consciously choosing the adjustment time. Your trainer in the studio can help you with this.

Adjusting Tension Time

You can adjust the tension time in the app at any time. This has no impact on previous training results. Proceed as follows:

  • Select your training plan on the overview
  • Click on the settings icon at the top right
  • Choose the desired setting at "Exercise duration"
